Fratello Metallo, also known as Brother Metal, is an Italian priest who uniquely blends heavy metal music with his spiritual vocation. Born Cesare Bonizzi in 1946 in Offanengo, Italy, he became a Capuchin friar and later discovered metal music, which he felt was a powerful medium for expressing spirituality. Despite his unconventional path, Fratello Metallo insists his music does not conflict with his religious duties. With his band, he covers a range of metal genres, emphasizing themes of faith, life, and struggle. His presence in the metal scene challenges stereotypes, showing that faith and heavy metal can coexist harmoniously.
